About Mpatel Wealth

I remember a conversation a few years ago with someone close to me who had just moved almost their entire savings into one sector because it had rallied hard that year. Everyone around them was talking about it. The returns looked incredible on paper. When I asked why that much of their money was in one place, the answer was simple: it was going up, so why not.

That stuck with me. Not because it was a bad decision made by someone careless, but because it was such a normal decision made by someone genuinely trying to do the right thing with their money. Chasing what just performed well feels safe. It is one of the most common and most costly patterns in investing, and almost nobody explains why it happens or how to avoid it.

I kept noticing versions of this same thing. People building portfolios entirely around whatever had recently done well, with no real sense of how much risk they were actually carrying. Not because they were bad with money, but because nobody had sat them down and explained concepts like asset allocation in plain language, without jargon or a product to sell at the end of it.

I am Smit Patel. I work as a business consultant at a Big 4 firm, not in finance. That has shaped how I approach this. I had to learn this subject the way most people do, through reading, asking a lot of questions, and slowly figuring out what actually matters versus what just sounds smart. I am not writing from the position of having known all this from day one. I am writing from having worked to understand it properly, which means I can explain it without assuming you already speak the language.

Everything on this site right now is educational. Calculators, articles, and tools meant to help you understand your own money and the decisions in front of you. Nothing here is personalized advice, and nothing here is trying to sell you a product disguised as an article.

What you will find here

Calculators that go beyond the basic ones you can find anywhere, built to show the actual trade offs rather than just spit out one number.

Articles that explain why something works the way it does, not just what to do, because a decision you actually understand is one you will stick with when markets get uncomfortable.

No sales pitch. No hidden commissions. If something is ever a paid product, it will be labeled clearly as one, and the free content will always stand on its own.

If one person reads something here and makes a slightly more informed decision because of it, that is enough reason for this to exist.
